This film tackles the issue of domestic violence, shedding light on the theory, “the cycle of violence”. Taking the viewers, through all the stages, (1)Tension Build up,(2)Acute Explosion to the (3)Honeymoon Stage and repeats.

With this film, the directors, AlHamza AlSadr & Ibrahim Qasim, suggest that the cycle could be interrupted. Their suggestion is delicate yet assertive, and they achieve that with their literal choice of mise-en-scéne, empowering the women to take action.

“This is an amazing film. I felt her terror and isolation and it made me cry to think of how many women go through this kind of emotional abuse.”
